We’re pleased to announce the first session of a new London Capital Reading Group, taking place this Saturday 8 October in Birkbeck College at 43 Gordon Square, WC1H 0PD, Room 112, at 3 – 5pm. There will be an introduction to the book and its historical context – and you can even take away your own copy for free whilst stocks last.
Worker education in Marxist economics is one of the Left’s most urgent tasks. Economic analysis enables effective political action – including winning the current battle within the Labour Party. So we want to make the essential text of Marx’s Capital (which is rightly seen as lengthy and difficult) newly accessible.
It’s why we’ve produced a new and low-cost abridged edition of Volume I. Now we are launching several Capital Reading Groups to read, discuss and apply this accessible version.
Our London Capital Reading Group will take place once a month on Saturday afternoon in Birkbeck College, a short walk from Euston or Kings Cross.
It is open to anyone and a pre-existing knowledge of Marxism or Karl Marx’s Capital is not needed. The Reading Group will be both a fun and fascinating exploration of the laws of motion of capitalism and an open forum for planning practical action. All the details for the first set of sessions can be found here.
Join the Facebook event here, and if you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
And if you want to set up a Capital Reading Group in your own area, we can help.
